In de Stapelmodus tilt het apparaat de stapel pallets in de stapelaar de lucht in, zodat een nieuwe pallet in de stapelaar kan worden ingevoerd. Hierna laat de stapelaar de stapel pallets zakken en tilt hij de stapel weer op van de laagste pallet, zodat de nieuwe pallet in de machine kan worden ingevoerd.

In de ontstapelmodus tilt de stapelaar de stapel pallets van de op een na laagste pallet de lucht in, waarbij er altijd één pallet overblijft die uit de machine kan worden gehaald. Wanneer een pallet uit de machine wordt gehaald, detecteert het apparaat dit en laat een nieuwe pallet op de grond zakken om te worden opgehaald.
